Rachel Markus, Director of Investor Relations, joined Urban Standard Capital in 2024. Previously she was a Director of Capital Formation at Silver Spike Capital. Prior, she led Business Development at RMWC for ~8 years, responsible for sales and marketing and helped raise the firm’s first three single-strategy funds.

Prior to RMWC, Rachel was the founding member of the Investor Relations and Marketing team at Elm Ridge Management, a long/short equity hedge fund, engaging with both public and private institutional investors including endowments and pensions.

Previously, she was a member of the Global Distribution team at Citadel (2008-2012) and before joining Citadel, she was a Vice President, Corporate Research Marketing for JP Morgan (2005-2008), where she worked in both the London and New York offices. Rachel has held positions with the Marketing team at Alliance Capital and as an Associate Analyst, Global Consumer Strategy at UBS. She joined the investment industry in 1998 as a Product Specialist for the Emerging Markets portfolio team at Morgan Stanley Asset Management.

Rachel holds an M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University and holds a B.S. in Applied Economics from Cornell University, where she was a Meinig Family Cornell National Scholar and graduated with distinction. An avid fan of sport and social impact, she’s the founder of the global Kicking + Screening Soccer Film Festival and board member of NYFEST, a film and entertainment soccer tournament which raises funds for youth development.
